The system features both a transmitter and receiver that operate on the 2.4 GHz frequency with a range of 100M. Trigger both a camera and flash remotely with the Captur Remote Control and Flash Trigger from hahnel, available here with cables for use with Nikon DSLR cameras. Worth getting though.Hahnel Captur Remote Control and Flash Trigger for Nikon. Had to order through only Amazon UK, no where had them in stock. I did end up buying the Hahnel Captur Timer wireless trigger/intervalometer and it's the best trigger I've used so far. Even in Airplane Mode it drains fast - one of the reasons I will avoid any trigger that requires using an iPhone. I'm using an iPhone 6S, so yes the battery is a big problem now. My dongle plug also somehow got bent out of shape in my bag. I really like the TriggerTrap, but the company is now bankrupt and has ceased all development support for the app. There is also a JJC wired remote shutter release/intervalometer compatible with Fuji that someone here reported as well-made. That's a wireless remote shutter release/intervalometer. I'm waiting for Hahnel Captur Timer kits for Fuji to come in stock. Although for a multi-day trip with no outlets it would become a problem, as Rod pointed out. I'm quite happy with the Trigger Trap, but then I have a new iPhone 7 Plus so battery life isn't an issue. This also has the benefit of preventing a call or text from interrupting a bulb mode exposure.Īlso, if you buy their phone holder, which pops into the flash mount, the cord is plenty long and the phone is positioned perfectly for changing exposure parameters, using the built-in ND calculator, etc. If you are willing to put the phone in "Airplane Mode" while shooting, the battery will last longer. However, it drains your iPhone battery really fast. It works very well and there are a ton of options for different types of long exposure settings. It's a dongle that plugs into the 2.5mm port on the camera and then into your iPhone. I'm thinking that I have a defective 2.5 mm port on my X-T2. I haven't heard back after more than a month. I contacted Fuji support and they acted very surprised and said that they would contact "Japan" and get back to me. The Syrp Genie people say that it works on the X-T2, but not on mine. The Genie works fine on the X-T1, but not the X-T2. The problem is that I have a fairly expensive Syrp Genie Mini Panning motion control that operates the camera via a cable with a 2.5 mm jack on the end. I also have the Fuji RR-90 remote that works on the X-T2 via the mini (micro?) port. They only will focus the X-T2 when the remote switch is released.weird. I have several remotes and intervalometers that work via the 2.5 mm jack on the X-T1, but none will fire the X-T2 shutter. I'm trying to get a remote that works in the 2.5 mm jack on the side of the X-T2. I have both the Fujifilm X-T1 and now the X-T2. SMDV RFN-4 Wireless Remote Shutter Release SMDV RFN-4 Wireless Remote Shutter Release For Canon They may update it for the XT2 and if its OK, that's now what I'd get instead to make use of the extra battery capacity. Meike made and still sell a battery grip for the XT1 for around $99 which includes a multi-function radio remote that the Fuji XT1 grip doesn't have. It's small and very light and fits in an accessory sleeve in a camera bag. I've only tried it to about 60m and it's fine. I bought a simple JJC radio remote trigger off e-Bay. If you're hiking to really remote areas phone charging becomes problematic without carrying still more gear. And 3) I want a phone-independent unit anyway. 2) Radio triggers work over longer distances than wifi. 1) I have an aging i-Phone 3 which won't run modern apps and I'm not going to change phones until it actually stops working. It's rather expensive for what it is - a wire with a 2.5mm jack and simple switch. It works but the wire is too short and too hard and is compressed into a zigzag in the packaging. I tried the genuine Fuji RR-80 wired release. If by remote you mean you have to be a long way from the camera, the wireless may be the only option if a cables version is not long enough. The bulb setting on this one is free of the power cost of the previous one I had. The hard cables can and do exert some influence on stability. I have a cheap wired (has interval international function too) remote and fortunately the cable is of the soft type and thus has no effect on the camera or tripod when you are moving around. I tried the bulb option a few times only to find the power drained very quickly and then it became useless without extra batteries.Which i obviously forgot to take the first time! I don't have a specific recommendation but some observations. I will appreciate your advise guys! Thanks Hi guys yes im looking for a shutrer remote for my x-t2 to make long exposure, but i dont know which brand its good and if is better wireless or with cable.
